Konference EMBEC'05

Ve dnech 20. až 25. listopadu 2005 se uskutečnil již třetí Evropský kongres biomedicinského inženýrství EMBEC’05 v kongresovém centru v Praze, který následoval po velmi úspěšných kongresech ve Vídni v letech 1999 a 2002.

The 3rd European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference EMBEC´05 will be following the very successful EMBEC´99 and EMBEC´02 that were both held in Vienna. These meetings have made a very good foundation for the periodical European regional medical and biological engineering conferences. We are extremely pleased to have been given the chance to be the first who could take over the torch and continue the tradition established in Vienna. We worked hard to prepare interesting and attractive scientific programme, which will meet the expectations of all attendees. Welcome at the third EMBEC and IFMBE European Conference on Biomedical Engineering in Prague in November 2005.

Welcome in Prague to the EMBEC´05 IFMBE regional conference.

This 3rd European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference EMBEC´05 is organized by the Czech Society for Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics CSBEMI. The scientific program represents the most relevant subdisciplines of our field, the healthcare challenges, the emerging technologies, and the most advanced methods. EMBEC´05 is another exciting conference where the European MBE community meets with colleagues and friends from many non-European countries, and it will be a milestone in the process of MBE integration in Europe. This process of integration is promoted by the European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering and Science EAMBES. Another important aspect for the European future is harmonization of higher education, the so-called Bologna process, which is one of the topics of the EMBEC´05. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the organizers of the EMBEC´05 for their wonderful work and their contribution to the progress of MBE in Europe. The EMBEC´05 takes place in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic. The city is located in the heart of Europe and one of the most distinguished European cities. It is famous for its history and architecture, for its contributions to culture, science, and music. Hopefully the participants will find some time during the conference to discover this city and to enjoy its unique atmosphere. The organizers have prepared an excellent sightseeing and social program that complements the high-level scientific program.
